How much do commission aide jobs pay per hour?

As of Jul 17, 2026, the average hourly pay for commission aide in the United States is $16.15, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $13.94 and $18.03 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What are some common challenges Commission Aides face when supporting multiple commissioners or departments, and how can they be managed?

Commission Aides often juggle requests and priorities from several commissioners or departments, which can lead to conflicting deadlines and a high volume of administrative tasks. Effective time management and clear communication are essential for success in this role. Building strong organizational systems, proactively clarifying priorities, and regularly updating stakeholders can help manage workload and reduce stress. Additionally, Commission Aides benefit from developing adaptability, as priorities may shift quickly in response to emerging issues.

What is commission aide?

A commission aide is a support staff member who assists with administrative tasks related to sales commissions, often in government or corporate settings. They may help calculate, verify, or process commission payments and require strong organizational and communication skills.

What jobs pay 4000 a week without a degree?

A Commission Aide typically earns hourly wages or commissions rather than a fixed weekly salary, making $4,000 a week uncommon without significant experience or sales volume. High-earning sales roles, such as real estate agents or insurance brokers, can reach this level through commissions, but they often require licensing and strong sales skills. Most jobs paying this amount without a degree are in sales, entrepreneurship, or specialized trades with commission-based pay structures.

What is the difference between Commission Aide vs Sales Associate?

AspectCommission AideSales Associate
Required CredentialsHigh school diploma or equivalent; basic knowledge of salesHigh school diploma or equivalent; customer service skills
Work EnvironmentRetail or service settings, assisting with commissions and sales trackingRetail stores, assisting customers and selling products
Employer & Industry UsageCommon in retail, insurance, and real estate sectorsWidely used in retail and customer service industries

Commission Aides and Sales Associates both work in retail environments and require similar credentials. However, Commission Aides typically focus on supporting sales teams with commission calculations and tracking, while Sales Associates directly engage with customers to sell products. Both roles are essential in retail settings, but their primary responsibilities differ.

What job pays the highest commission?

In sales roles such as real estate agents, financial advisors, and high-end car salespeople, commissions can be very high, often reaching 10% or more of the sale price. These positions typically require strong negotiation skills, industry knowledge, and sometimes licensing or certifications. The highest commissions are usually found in industries with large transactions or luxury products.

Is a job with commission worth it?

A Commission Aide job can be worth it if you are motivated by performance-based pay and have strong sales or customer service skills. Earnings depend on sales volume and commission rates, which can lead to higher income but also income variability. It often requires a flexible schedule and the ability to handle fluctuating income levels.

What are Commission Aides and what do they do?

Commission Aides are administrative professionals who support the work of government commissions or boards. Their duties often include preparing meeting materials, taking minutes, handling correspondence, and assisting with scheduling and logistics. They play a key role in ensuring meetings run smoothly and that commissioners have the information and resources they need. Commission Aides may also serve as a point of contact between the public, commissioners, and other staff members. The specific responsibilities can vary depending on the type and level of the commission they serve.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Commission Aide, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Commission Aide, you generally need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and administrative experience, often supported by a relevant associate’s or bachelor’s degree. Familiarity with office software like Microsoft Office Suite and experience with scheduling or document management systems are typically required. Excellent communication, discretion, and the ability to multitask make someone stand out in this role. These skills ensure efficient support for commissioners, help maintain accurate records, and enable smooth operations within governmental or organizational bodies.
