We are seeking a motivated Structured Cable Installer to support the installation, pulling, and maintenance of critical information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure. This role requires foundational, hands-on experience executing basic low-voltage projects within commercial environments, including offices, schools, and new construction. The ideal candidate will work under the direction of a Lead Technician to install quality copper and fiber pathways while maintaining a safe work site.
Travel Requirements: Travel when needed for regional project sites.
Key Accountabilities
  • Project Execution: Support on-site low-voltage and structured cabling installation teams, ensuring assigned tasks are completed cleanly, on schedule, and up to standard quality guidelines.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively under the direction of field foremen and lead technicians, communicating progress clearly and adapting to daily site goals.
  • Safety & Compliance: Strictly adhere to local safety codes, company policies, and basic OSHA regulations across all active field operations.

Essential Functions & Basic Duties
  • Infrastructure Installation: Pull, route, and dress Category cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A) and basic fiber optic networks through conduits, trays, and J-hooks.
  • Terminations & Testing: Perform standard copper cable terminations (RJ-45, jacks, and patch panels) and assist senior technicians with basic continuity testing.
  • Equipment Mounting: Assist with the physical installation and mounting of network hardware, such as Wireless Access Points (WAPs), racks, and basic security/AV components.
  • Site Cleanliness & Documentation: Ensure proper cable labeling according to project schemas and maintain a clean, hazard-free work environment.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Field Experience: At least 1 year of hands-on experience in the telecommunications, construction, or structural low-voltage trade.
  • Environment Expertise: Exposure to commercial construction sites, school renovations, or standard office building network rollouts.
Licenses & Certifications
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record (Required)
  • Able to pass background and drug tests
Core Skills & Technical Proficiencies
  • Soft Skills: Reliable attendance, strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and great communication skills within a team environment.
  • Physical & Tools: Proficiency with basic hand/power tools (drills, snips, punch-down tools) and the ability to work on ladders safely.
