Job description

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Placement Associate is responsible for sending out submissions and soliciting quotes for both new business and re-marketed existing business for our Commercial Insurance clients.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Collaborate with the Placement Specialists to develop a marketing/re-marketing strategy that results in optimal pricing and coverage quotes
  2. Analyze and ensure complete collection client risk exposure, claims, and rating data
  3. Rate online directly with carriers that have the ability to do so
  4. Ensure all information required by the carrier is complete
  5. Oversee the preparation of client and prospect client proposals
  6. Follow-up on quote status
  7. Create and maintain status reports
  8. Bind coverage and close out marketing files
  9. Maintain and enrich strong carrier relationships and coordinate carrier visits
  10. Other duties requested by the broker and/or in accordance with TIS practices which are related to the successful retention and maintenance of client relationships. This may include some travel to client facilities when needed.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  1. High school degree or equivalency; college degree preferred
  2. 1-2 years previous insurance placement/marketing work experience preferred
  3. Knowledge of commercial insurance industry, underwriting, and rating procedures
  4. Current State of Tennessee P&C license required. Ability to meet Continuing Education requirements for license renewal.
  5. Ability to comply with applicable laws
  6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  7. Must be organized and have the ability to handle many files at the same time
  8. Self-starter with the ability to work well independently yet function as part of a team
  9. Proficiency working in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  10. AMS360 and ImageRight software experience preferred
