Job description

ABOUT THE ROLE
CountryPlace Mortgage, a leading nationwide personal property, mortgage and commercial lender headquartered in Plano, TX, is seeking a Senior Mortgage Closer/Funder to help grow our Closing Department. This in-person role is in our Plano, TX office. The Senior Mortgage Closer/Funder collaborates with essential internal departments as well as external title companies and attorneys. You will facilitate the closing process by delivering complete and accurate closing packages. This also includes completing the funding process and approving critical funding documents. You will work closely with Post-closing and Construction departments as necessary to resolve any issues. You will assist in contributing to the continuous improvement of processes with a focus on our borrowers and retail partners.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Drive the loan closing processing after clear conditions to close while multitasking loan closing escalations
  • Communicate with closing document provider and finalize closing documents in a loan closing package
  • Serves as subject matter expert (SME) in Change in Circumstance requirements, TRID regulations, and Closing Disclosure (CD) preparation
  • Collaborate with title company to reconcile and balance Closing Disclosure with precision and efficiency
  • Exceptional knowledge of investor loan closing requirements (FHA, Fannie Mae, Non-Conforming Land/Home)
  • Partner with the accounting dept for accurate and timely transfer of funds for closing
  • Examine and understand the risk of each final executed document prior to funding
  • Expert in loan structuring (purchase vs refinance) to comply with lending practices and federal regulations
  • Proficient in electronic document storage to index and audit closing documents
  • Conduct recording fee audits, update state recording templates and obtain title company refunds
  • Expertise in right of rescission requirements
  • Develop and maintain a positive experience for internal and external clients as primary point of contact for closing and funding
  • Keep the Closing manual current with the step-by-step procedures for each loan product
  • Identify inefficiencies in the closing and funding process, recommend improvements, and assist with policy/procedure updates
  • Serve as EME of the LOS and closing software, assist with system testing and updates.
  • Assist with post-closing and construction department responsibilities as needed
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy maintaining service level commitments
  • Perform administrative, database administration and preparation of reports as required
  • Consistently meets and exceeds individual, team and department objectives
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

POSITION REQUIREMENTS, CAPABILITIES, & SKILLS:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree required, in Finance, Accounting, or Business
  • 3+ years' experience as a loan closer in banking or financial services
  • Construction to permanent a plus
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
