Job description

Goodwill of Central Iowa is looking for a Full-Time Retail Store E-Commerce Associate to assist with e-commerce store operations and training retail employees with our values of love, kindness, and respect.
Hours amp; Schedules:
  • Full-Time (38-40 hours/week)
  • No retail holiday season! Shifts are scheduled Monday - Saturday: 8 am - 10 pm and Sunday: 11 am - 6 pm
  • This position requires a flexible schedule which includes days, evenings, and weekends to support business needs.
Pay amp; Benefits:
  • Starting wage of $16-$19/hour dependent upon relevant years of experience.
  • An additional $1.00/hour on Saturday and Sunday shifts worked!

E-Commerce Associates identify and select high value donated goods inside Goodwill of Central Iowa (GCI) retail stores to photograph and list them for auction on various e-commerce platforms. They coach store teams to recognize trending items that should be listed for auction. This position collaborates with the E-Commerce department to maximize revenue in support of GCI’s mission.
What you will do:
  • Sort and accurately identify donated goods that would be valuable selections for online E-Commerce auctions.
  • Effectively communicate to store teams on items that are trending with online customers to drive sales.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively on teams within our values of love, kindness, and respect.
  • Accurately inventory, tag, and record donated goods for secure transfer between locations.
  • Photograph items for online E-Commerce auctions using best practices.
  • Prepare accurate written descriptions of saleable items to list across online platforms.
  • Achieve production goals and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Report, track, and communicate E-Commerce production and KPI metrics between E-Commerce and Retail departments.
  • Greet, assist, and engage with customers to provide excellent customer service in a helpful and courteous manner.
  • Safely operate a dolly, wheeled cart, pallet jack, and possibly riding or walk behind forklift.
  • Assist with accepting donations and retail store production as needed using GCI’s donated goods retail processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What you will need:
  • Proficient in use of computers, internet browsers, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formats.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize work.
  • Ability to perform basic math.
  • Ability to work both independently and with a team effectively and flexibly.
  • Knowledge of antiques, collectibles, and jewelry preferred.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and dependent adult and child abuse background check.
  • High school diploma or its equivalent or currently attending high school or GED classes. A minimum of four (4) years of any combination of military service, high school or related full-time paid employment. A minimum of twelve (12) months of related full-time paid employment.
  • Access to reliable transportation for regular participation in work
  • Ability to occasionally carry, lift, push or pull up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to consistently carry, lift, push or pull up to 20 pounds

  • District Manager - Oversees multi-unit store operations management by leading teams to drive operational and service excellence, overall financial performance, loss control activities, customer service, inventory control, and quality standards within their assigned stores.
