Are you a detail-obsessed professional with a passion for cannabis? We're looking for an experienced Support Staff team member to help guide customers through their cannabis journey with knowledge, care, and professionalism.

SUPPORT STAFF - JOB DESCRIPTION

Support Staff play a critical role in the day-to-day operations of the dispensary by delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining regulatory compliance, and ensuring a clean, organized, and welcoming store environment. This role is rooted in the responsible sale of cannabis and requires a well-rounded understanding of cannabis products, consumption methods, and their therapeutic or recreational applications. Support Staff are expected to guide both medical and adult-use customers through a highly regulated purchasing process while offering personalized product recommendations. They must uphold all Maryland state cannabis regulations and internal company policies while creating a positive, educational, and professional experience for every guest. This position is cross-trained in budtending and reception and is essential to maintaining dispensary flow and operational excellence.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Greet customers warmly, assist with queue placement, and create a positive, engaging first impression.

  • Answer customer questions with confidence and clarity regarding product strains, effects, medicinal uses, and methods of consumption.

  • Demonstrate expert knowledge of products carried in-store and maintain awareness of new developments in cannabis.

  • Maintain compliance with all Maryland cannabis regulations and internal company policies.

  • Perform daily assigned duties including cleaning, organizing, and maintaining a professional environment throughout the dispensary.

  • Follow assigned break and lunch schedules in accordance with management direction.

  • Execute responsibilities across multiple dispensary functions, including front desk and budtending.

  • Follow all company and state-mandated transaction procedures, including MVP steps, Scan-Tag-Bag processes, cash handling standards, and ID verification protocols.

  • Operate the Dutchie Point of Sale (POS) system accurately, applying proper discounts and verifying pricing.

  • Confirm customer eligibility and ID validity to ensure full legal compliance during every transaction.

  • Provide tailored recommendations by actively listening to customer needs and preferences.

  • Exhibit urgency and efficiency during high-traffic periods without sacrificing customer service quality.

  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation and contribute to an orderly, safe sales floor.

  • Complete assigned opening and closing tasks in a timely and thorough manner.

  • Take ownership of each transaction, resolve issues as they arise, and communicate mistakes with professionalism.

  • Collaborate with coworkers and management to ensure smooth store operations and uphold team standards.

  • Stay open to coaching and actively implement feedback to continuously improve performance.

  • Support supervisors and managers by executing additional delegated tasks as needed.

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the facility.

  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
