Job description


SAIC is seeking a Systems Engineer for shipboard Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) major systems. This program will be part of a transformative venture, driving the future of next generation afloat mission effectiveness in response to evolving strategic and environmental demands.
This position is hybrid and the candidate must live within an hour of Pascagoula, MS.
This position is contingent upon award news, anticipated in Fall 2026.
Duties:
  • Develop, update, and maintain project Systems Engineering documents including stage 4 and 5 test procedures, engineering block diagrams, and system manuals for shipboard C5ISR systems
  • Works with the multidisciplinary technical team to ensure successful shipboard industrial test procedures development and testing

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
  • Engineering Bachelors degree and two (2) years or more relevant experience with shipboard C5ISR experience on one or more of these systems: radio communication racks, Interior Communications(Alarm/Safety/Warning), shipboard CGOne/Unclass/SIPRNET LANs, Surface Search Radar, Navigation Distribution system, Integrated Bridge System; BS degree maybe offset with an additional 4 years of relevant C5ISR experience. Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must have an active Secret clearance
  • Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF) - IA Level II - Security+ certification, or CISSP or equivalent (or willing to obtain within 180 days of hiring)
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing requirements

Must have experience in one of the three C3ISR, C4ISR, C5ISR, and/or C6ISR Shipboard Systems:
  • Navigation Data Distribution System (NDDS) with Gyrocompass or Speed Log experience
  • OR Sonar Mission System experience
  • OR Seawatch and Moriah experience

Desired Qualification and Experience:
  • Proficiency with Autocad, Adobe and Microsoft Office suite
