Comal has been a community mainstay since opening in downtown Berkeley in 2012. Recognized for its excellence by Michelin Bib Gourmand & SF Chronicle Top 100, Comal serves delicious regional Mexican food specializing in masa-based dishes, wood-fired hearth cooking, craft cocktails and agave spirits. Comal’s food is seasonal, and ingredient driven.
Comal Next Door opened in Berkeley in 2018 and quickly established its own identity as a neighborhood fixture, serving burritos, tacos and tortas as well as house made aguas frescas, salads, and now cocktails to go as well!
Comal Next Door Cashiers
Our cashiers provide efficient and welcoming counter service for dine in and take out orders in a high volume, high quality restaurant environment for lunch and dinner. CNDB is a very positive, teamwork focused environment offering room for personal and professional growth.
Comal Food Runners
The Runner works in collaboration with the expeditor and floor staff to keep up a steady flow of plated meals from the kitchen to the guest tables. This position provides important communication between the chefs and expeditor and floor staff to ensure correct and properly prepared dishes are served to diners.

*Carrying complete dishes from the kitchen pass to the guest’s table at the direction of the food expeditor
*Maintaining knowledge of Comal food and drink; ability to recognize dishes & drinks by sight
*Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of the kitchen pass area
*Conversational level Spanish is a big plus
*Availability nights and weekends, 3-4 shifts per week
