Job Summary

St. Mary Catholic Virtue School in Littleton, in alliance with the family, St. Mary Catholic Virtue School promotes the flourishing of the students in a story of friendship with Christ through virtues. We are seeking a warm, reliable, and faith-filled Preschool Teacher to support creating a wonder-filled, developmentally appropriate, and virtue-based early childhood learning environment. This position plays a critical role in the classroom, assisting with instruction, supervision, and daily routines, and maintaining compliance with Colorado state licensing and PDIS requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Lead Teacher in lesson planning aligned with the school's Catholic mission and early childhood best practices.
  • Assist in preparing and organizing classroom materials and learning activities.
  • Supervise children both indoors and outdoors to ensure safety and engagement. Foster a nurturing, respectful, and faith-filled classroom culture that promotes each child's sense of wonder and virtue. Model and reinforce positive behavior in line with the school's virtue-based discipline approach.
  • Support children's physical needs, including toileting, hygiene, and snack/lunch routines.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe learning environment.
  • Assist with arrival, dismissal, and transitions throughout the day.
  • Complete annual required training hours through Colorado Shines PDIS, including mandatory health, safety, and early childhood development modules.
  • Comply with Colorado Department of Early Childhood licensing rules and all school policies.
  • Demonstrate confidentiality, professionalism, and collaboration with colleagues and families.


Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30 am-3:30 pm

Wage: $20-25/hour based on experience

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Must meet Colorado Department of Early Childhood (CDEC) staff qualifications for an early childhood assistant or aide.
  • Must be enrolled in or willing to register with Colorado Shines PDIS and maintain current training hours.
  • High school diploma or GED required; coursework or degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.
  • Experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or educational setting preferred.
  • Current certifications in Pediatric CPR/First Aid, Standard Precautions, and Mandatory Reporter Training (or willingness to complete upon hire).
  • Commitment to the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-centered, faith-based environment.
  • Must pass a Colorado background check and fingerprinting process.
