We are seeking a Senior Color Expert II for our Makeup, Color Development Team, based in Clark, New Jersey. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating shades, market trends, and competitive landscapes across makeup categories. You will leverage analytical and strategic thinking to decode color, shades, and trends, build insightful presentations with storytelling skills while working cross functionally and globally to collaborate and influence color impact.
A Day in the Life: As a Senior Color Expert II on the Makeup, Color Development Team, you will:
  • Integrate data analytics with artistic color sense to assess internal and competitor formulations, identify shade gaps, and deliver actionable recommendations that inform shade expansion, optimization, and innovation strategies across brands.
  • Utilize visual perception as well as color measurement tools and digital color science systems to assess color.
  • Develop and maintain trackers, dashboards, and reports to organize and translate complex datasets.
  • Leverage trend forecasts and industry research to influence future shade development.
  • Evaluate shades and lifecycle trends to support shade portfolio decisions.
  • Accelerate US Co Lab partnering across the organization with global R&I counterparts and US local marketing teams to be the voice of US inclusivity and relevance.
  • Independently lead workshops bringing cross-functional teams together to test products with consumers capitalizing on the expertise of makeup artists and KOLs to drive US consumer-centric color innovation.
  • Deliver comprehensive color training for new and existing makeup experts, facilitating their successful onboarding and continuous development.
  • Drive Strategic Color Creation process and tools creating unique and inclusive color signatures.
  • Synthesize and present research locally and globally to influence color decisions.

We Are Looking For: You're a great match for this role if you are an innovator, entrepreneur, integrator, and problem-solver with a research-minded approach, eager to contribute to leading makeup brands.
  • Education: A completed Bachelor's or Master's in Business, Fashion, Marketing, Data Analytics, Color Science, Cosmetic Science or related field is required. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years in beauty, cosmetics, or consumer products with a focus on shade development, analytics, or market intelligence is required.
  • Demonstrated understanding of color theory, color science, skin tones, undertones, and formulation considerations is required.
  • Strong proficiency in data analytics tools (e.g., Nielsen, Circana, Power BI) and ability to learn and leverage new digital tools.
  • Ability to collaborate with partners locally and globally.
  • Proven ability to synthesize data and translate insights into strategic recommendations.
  • Good problem solving and decision making skills. Displays a sense of urgency and initiative with creativity and flexibility.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage projects within timelines handling multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must be willing to apply and wear makeup products.
  • Creative and self-motivated.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • The ability to be onsite, in the office at least 3 days a week as this is an essential function of the position (required)
