Youʼll collaborate with teams across Apple to explore, define and drive the development of next-generation camera.
Description
The Camera Hardware Engineering group is responsible for all research, design, development, test, and qualification of camera hardware for Apple products. This team is seeking an exceptional Camera Image Quality Validation Engineer with responsibilities for ongoing evaluation, benchmarking and characterization of Apple camera products.","responsibilities":"Work closely with cross functional team, support the entire development cycle of Apple cameras, from early prototype to product launch
Lead image quality validation at component and system levels
Comprehensively characterize and quantitatively assess camera performance and image quality
Feedback and contribute to refinement and improvement of camera design and process
Develop image processing algorithm for image quality metrics
Incubate new metrology for next-generation Apple products and support technology transfer from lab to production sites
Deliver executive level presentations of results
Preferred Qualifications
MS/PhD in EE, Optics, Color Science or equivalent and 3+ years of relevant industry experience
Deep understanding of image quality metrics and evaluation methodology
Experience with deep learning for image segmentation, object recognition and abnormal detection
Familiarity with camera components and functions
Experience with camera ISP pipeline and 3A
Experience with megapixel CMOS image sensor technology, lens selection and qualification
Experience with objective camera bench testing and subjective image quality analysis
Minimum Qualifications
BS in EE, Optics, Color Science or equivalent
Experience with Matlab and/or Python programming skills
Experience with working in an optical lab
Experience with bench or tester automation of data acquisition
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $150,400 and $225,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
