Job description

Hood Distribution, established in 1899, is a wholesale distributor of hardwood lumber & plywood as well as related specialty products. We currently have twenty-three locations, providing distribution into the eastern US as well as the Caribbean markets. Our primary customers turn our products into something special. We are looking for a paint Color Mix Specialistto join our growing team inIndianapolis, IN.
The primary objective for this position is to complete and ship custom color match requests along with standard color requests within two business days. Color Mix Specialists are required to follow all procedures, ensure the proper documentation is taken and have a clean workspace.
Key Responsibilities:
Tinting and matching paints and stain colors
Maintain, and record accurate and appropriate records from customer orders, custom mixes, and colors.
Create presentation samples for customers.
Providing technical support on the different finishing products and applications
Participate in demonstrations and assist in sales.
Work with inside sales team to provide solutions to customer needs
Ensure all completed custom mixes are properly and visibly labeled.
Maintain a clean work environment by adhering to daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning tasks.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
Prior knowledge in paints, stains, solvents, wood species, and spray equipment
Proven skill in color matching and spraying technic
Good eye for color (Must be able to pass a color-blind test)
Ability to use and understand technology, E.g., Microsoft Office, ERP systems.
Good attention to detail
Excellent Customer Service skills
Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills.
Must be able to lift 50 - 100lbs.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to adapt to change.
Minimum education High School Diploma
