Job description

The MPS Supply Planner ensures reliable supply by managing orders, maintaining accurate production schedules, and optimizing inventory levels. The role supports the S&OP process, monitors supplier performance, and mitigates supply chain risks. It collaborates closely with Sales, Manufacturing, and other teams to manage change requests, support product transfers, and resolve short-term supply issues. Using data and planning tools, the planner drives process improvements, maintains system accuracy, and ensures on-time execution with no backlog. Other responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
The MPS Supply Planner can have a variety of tasks and responsibilities that may include but are not limited to:
  • Participation in Supply Review and contribution to S&OP cycle
  • Track and monitor open Purchase orders
  • Implement and build a feasible MPS (Master Production Schedule) Plan according to an aligned capacity and based on Stock Keeping Unit level, in the given production lead time, releasing orders according to the firm ordering horizon of the manufacturing plants.
  • Monitor and optimize inventory levels, ensuring that stock levels align with production schedules and customer demand while minimizing excess or obsolete inventory
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, monitoring performance, and addressing any issues or discrepancies
  • Identify and assess risks with the supply chain, developing and implementing strategies to mitigate disruptions such as supply shortages or transportation delays
  • Utilize analytical tools and software to analyze and interpret data related to inventory levels, procurement, production, and distribution
  • Utilize supply chain management software data analytics tools, and other technologies to streamline processes and visibility
  • Review and manage change requests from Sales (Order Enquiry, Quick Seal, Priority and Emergency Request Workflows) and Production (Short term supply issues - materials, machine, absenteeism, etc.)
  • Allow no past dues in the MPS Plans (Backlog Management)
  • Set-up and maintain system parameters to run the system as automatic as possible and to achieve good results
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure seamless communication and alignment with overall business goals, escalations, etc.
  • Support transfer projects
  • Ensure smooth phase-in of New Product Introduction (NPI) and product transfers in collaboration between Sales and Manufacturing
  • Handle drawing changes on series items
  • Series replacement tool orders with sampling
  • Actively participate in and contribute to continuous improvement efforts, suggesting and implementing enhancements to planning processes and workflows

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain, information systems or related discipline required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • 2-4 years' experience in a purchasing function in a distribution or logistics environment
  • Willing to travel up to 5%
  • Experience working with ERP systems, JD Edwards & SAP preferred
  • Experience working with PC and MS Office, especially Excel

Competencies:
  • Experience working with ERP systems, JD Edwards & SAP preferred
  • Experience working with PC and MS Office, especially Excel
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient in English, both spoken and written

Travel:
  • The MPS Supply Planner position is a local position.
  • Limited travel requirements 5%-10% per year.
  • Travel may be required internationally. Candidate must be able to travel outside of the US without restrictions.
