Job description

Job Title: Color Matcher / ColorCert TechnicianJob Description

This role supports high-quality printing operations by monitoring color accuracy, conducting precise color measurements, and ensuring all printed materials meet established color standards. The Color Matcher / ColorCert Technician plays a key role in maintaining consistent color quality throughout production while following defined quality and safety procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor color consistency throughout production runs to ensure printed materials meet established standards.
  • Perform accurate color measurements using ColorCert equipment and other color-management tools.
  • Compare printed samples to established color standards and specifications.
  • Record color-quality data, maintain detailed documentation, and update records as needed.
  • Communicate quality concerns and color issues clearly to Press Operators and Supervisors.
  • Assist with identifying and resolving color inconsistencies and deviations from standards.
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain ColorCert equipment in proper working condition.
  • Follow all established quality-control procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area to support smooth operations.
  • Perform other quality-control duties and related tasks as assigned by leadership.
Essential Skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in visual inspection and data recording.
  • Basic computer skills for operating color-management systems and documenting quality data.
  • Willingness to learn ColorCert software and related color-management systems.
  • Ability to follow written procedures and standard operating instructions.
  • Good communication skills to report findings and collaborate with production staff.
  • Teamwork skills to work effectively with Press Operators, Supervisors, and other colleagues.
  • Dependability and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the shift.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or move materials and equipment as part of production support.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing/printing environment with normal production noise.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Printing or manufacturing experience preferred, but not required.
  • Experience or familiarity with color matching, quality control, batching, blending, or extrusion is beneficial.
  • Comfort working on a 3rd shift schedule (11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., Monday through Friday).

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
