Job description

Kobalt Design Group is a Signature Graphics company. We are a locally-owned, full-service heatset and coldset commercial printer with direct mail advertising and graphic design businesses with approximately 150 employees. Since opening in 1984, Signature has become one of the largest printers in the Pacific Northwest.


We are looking for a Production Artist to join our Auburn, WA team. A Production Artist typesets weekly shelf tags for multiple ad groups, provides production/typesetting support for weekly and monthly ad groups’ print circulars, transposes weekly print layout details into digital advertising document publications, communicates with team and/or clients on project proofing schedules, and other marketing tasks.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Proficient working with Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Excel software, preferably within a Mac environment
Works from team-provided page layouts or clients’ advertising bulletins to typeset or format page design compositions for print shelf tags and/or page layouts
Art research and procurement

Supports design team with acquisitions of UPC-coded artwork through variable digital asset management systems
Typesets tags/pages and places artwork following established brand and style guidelines
Proofs typesetting productions and double-checks corrections
Maintains clean template files and SOP documentation
Other duties may be assigned
