Join Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist and Wake Forest University School of Medicine as an Ophthalmology Physician in Winston-Salem part of Advocate Health, one of the largest nonprofit integrated health systems in the country.
Whats New & Exciting
- A $100M, 165,000 sq. ft. standalone Eye Institute is opening in 2026 in Winston-Salems Innovation Quarter.
- The four-story facility will house all eye services, surgical suites, research, and clinical trialssupporting 100,000+ patient visits annually.
Highlights
- Full-time academic surgical glaucoma position
- Primarily outpatient clinical and surgical practice
- Weekday schedule with shared call
- Full spectrum glaucoma procedures including MIGS and complex surgery
- Strong support: ophthalmic techs, orthoptists, admin staff, research coordinators
- Significant involvement in resident, fellow, and medical student education
- 4 residents per year
- Approved fellowships in Cornea, Retina-Vitreous, Glaucoma, and Pediatrics

TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- DO, MD or MD-DO/PhD
- Board certified or board eligible in ophthalmology
- Completion of fellowship training in medical and surgical glaucoma
- North Carolina unrestricted medical licensure or eligible
- Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Department of Public Safety (DPS) registration in North Carolina
