Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Collision Estimator to join our automotive service team. In this role, you will be the key point of contact for customers and insurance adjusters, accurately assessing vehicle damage and creating precise repair estimates. Your expertise will help streamline the repair process, ensure customer satisfaction, and uphold the highest standards of automotive repair. Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of damaged vehicles to evaluate collision impact and mechanical issues.
  • Prepare detailed, accurate auto estimates using industry-standard estimating software.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, explaining repair procedures, costs, and timelines to ensure transparency.
  • Collaborate with technicians, parts departments, and insurance companies to facilitate smooth workflow and timely repairs.
  • Assist in upselling additional services such as alignments, oil changes, brake repairs, or suspension work to maximize shop revenue.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all estimates, repair orders, and customer interactions for accountability.
  • Stay current on automotive repair techniques, industry standards, and insurance requirements to provide expert guidance.

Requirements

  • Proven dealership or auto service management experience with a strong background in auto estimating and collision repairs.
  • Extensive knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, and vehicle maintenance procedures including transmissions, oil changes, brake repairs, and alignments.
  • Hands-on mechanic experience or familiarity with automotive repair processes such as auto body work, suspension systems, shocks & struts, tire service, diesel engine repair, air brake systems, and shocks & struts.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally.
  • Demonstrated ability in auto estimating software and service writing; familiarity with auto sales is a plus.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge across various vehicle systems including transmissions, suspensions, brakes, tires, and diesel engines.
  • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately when necessary; experience with insurance claims processing is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; dealership experience is highly desirable.
