We are looking for motivated individuals currently working (or have recently worked) in the automotive repair field. This position allows the correct candidate to grow into a GM technician apprentice after 12 -24 months of service. Qualified candidates are placed on a structured career path that allows them to grow into a fully certified GM line technician, Service consultant, parts counter sales person, new/used car sales person, or collision department technician. All formal online and offsite GM training included. Great opportunity to build a career in the automotive industry. Above average pay to start depending on any relevant experience. No night shift or Sunday work. Oldest Chevrolet dealership in Phoenix, open since 1934. Duties:- Perform general service including oil change, tire rotations, and fluid exchanges- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify necessary repairs.- Complete all GM fundamental training- Communicate with service consultants to ensure timely completion of repairs.- Maintain accurate records of repairs.- Communicate effectively with production team lead.- Clean work area at the end of the shiftExperience:- 1 year or more of previous general service/lube technician experience is preferred.- Fundamental knowledge of mechanical repairs- Familiarity with standard auto repair shop equipment including vehicle lifts. - Excellent communication skills to interact with service consultants to explain repair options.- Attention to detail to accurately assess and repair vehicles.- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Candidates must have a current driver's license with no more than 2 moving violations in the past 39 months. Must be able to pass a drug test. Must be able to work Saturdays.
