Job description

Azure Data Quality Assurance Specialist

The Opportunity:

When a user tries a new system, they expect it to be intuitive and run smoothly. Functionality, reliability, and user experience are key to successful information systems, and that means rigorous testing. That's why we need a Quality Assurance Analyst like you who's eager to help thoroughly test software and ensure that our team releases the best system possible.

As a Quality Assurance Analyst on our team, you'll work with data engineers that evaluate developed systems forthe Veterans Administration. You'll help develop and implement a test plan based on user stories. Using Azure, Oracle, and AWS-based data,you'll generate problem resolutions and track quality assurance standards to observe how the system performs, then document the results and communicate defects to the development team so they can start improving the tool. You'll expand upon your experience in various types of testing, including manual and automated. This is an opportunity to broaden your skills in documenting, solving system deficiencies, automation, and Cloud computing. Work with us to develop systems solutions thathelp our nation's veterans.

You Have:

  • 3+ years of experience with Azure Tools used for data engineering and ELT, including Azure Synapse or Azure Databricks

  • Experience with analyzing and profiling data

  • Experience with querying or working with data using SQL and PySpark

  • Experience building automated testing frameworks that can be used to proactively catch data issues

  • Knowledge of best testing practices and patterns in a Cloud environment

  • Ability to work as part of a mid-sized team, with minimal direction, and rapidly build test plans and test sets using standard test planning tools

  • Ability to implement, build, and execute test plan using CoTS automated tooling or script-based testing with Python or Scala

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements

  • HS diploma or GED

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with Cloud-based testing tools, including Collibra's Data Quality

  • Knowledge of JIRA and Confluence

  • Ability to integrate testing protocols to monitoring applications, including Dynatrace or Splunk

  • Ability to document standards and test plans

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field

  • Azure Data Engineer Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
