Job description

Job Posting Title: WDI Graphic Fabrication Design Intern, Spring 2027 Req ID: 10158945 About the Role & Program Walt Disney Imagineering is the creative force that imagines, designs and brings to life all Disney theme parks, resorts, attractions and cruise ships worldwide. Working across a spectrum of disciplines that range from creative and conceptual to scientific and technical, Imagineers blend an innovative mixture of storytelling, art, science and technology to create immersive experiences, memorable destinations, and innovative entertainment for families around the globe. The approximate date of this internship is January to June 2027 and will be located in Orlando, FL.

What You Will Do

Provide technical design support and production coordination for Environmental Graphic Design projects. Review drawings and provide feedback. Provide fabrication support for the Imagineering graphics project team. Organize and develop a scope of work in support of hard cost budget and schedule for projects of limited complexity and size. Support the Environmental Graphic Signage cost estimating process through collection of data for review. Manage vendors on small scaled projects. Provide documentation throughout the design process. Supervising installation after park close.

Required

Qualifications & Skills Ability to manage time while working on multiple projects. Proficiency in foam core assembly, soldering, and woodshop skills. Basic electronics knowledge. Experience with Creative Suite 6 or digital illustration tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, 3D software knowledge of Rhino, Revit or Auto Cad and MS Office Suite. Understanding of specific application of drafting principles and techniques as applied to environmental graphics construction documentation. Proven ability to detail themed environmental graphics for contract documentation. Valid Driver's License Required.

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum one year of experience in a design practice, or a professional internship. Familiarity with Environmental Graphic design, sign construction techniques, and related areas including architecture, interior design and landscape design.

Education

Currently enrolled as a Junior or higher attending an accredited college/university earning a degree in Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design or Product Design. Eligibility Requirements & Program Information Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship. Be at least 18 years of age. Possess unrestricted work authorization. Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.

Additional Information

Able to provide reliable transportation to/from work. Must be fully available for the duration of the internship. Must be fully available 7 days/week including days, nights, overnights, holidays and weekends. Pay Rate The pay rate for this role in Orlando, FL is $26.50 per hour for undergraduate students and $27.50 per hour for graduate level students.
