Job description

Our client is looking for an experienced bookkeeper to join their team! The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day accounting activities, and providing financial reporting support. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a high level of accuracy, and experience working with accounting software and financial processes.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Transaction Recording

  • Record daily financial transactions, including income, expenses, sales, receipts, and payments.
  • Accurately classify and assign transactions to the appropriate accounts.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date ledgers and journals.

Accounts Payable & Receivable

  • Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments.
  • Monitor outstanding accounts and assist with collections efforts.
  • Maintain accurate records of accounts payable and receivable activities.
  • Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies as needed.

Bank Reconciliation

  • Reconcile company bank accounts and credit card statements.
  • Compare internal financial records to bank statements to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Ensure financial records remain accurate and audit-ready.

Payroll Processing

  • Process employee payroll accurately and on schedule.
  • Calculate wages, overtime, deductions, and other payroll adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Maintain payroll records and support payroll-related inquiries.

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Provide financial information to management and external auditors as required.

Budgeting & Forecasting Support

  • Assist leadership with budgeting and financial planning activities.
  • Monitor expenditures and compare actual results to budget forecasts.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Bookkeeper, Accounting Clerk, or similar accounting role.
  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and accounting practices.
  • Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with bank reconciliations, payroll processing, and financial reporting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

Preferred Skills
