Position Overview:

The Collateral Underwriting Team Lead (West Coast) is responsible for supporting the Collateral Underwriters in their day-to-day requirements while ensuring service level agreements are being maintained. The Collateral Underwriting Team Lead provides solutions and assistance to loan-level escalations, complex scenarios, and escalated reviews while also determining when loan level issues require escalation to the management level. The Collateral Underwriting Team Lead directs the daily assignments of the appraisal review staff to ensure acceptable turn times and load balancing as well as mentoring where required.

Working hours for this position will be 11:30 AM - 8:30 PM ET to support the West Coast region.Job Responsibilities:
  • Daily leadership of collateral underwriters and pipeline management.
  • Pipeline management to maintain efficiency and designate priority based on company and branch needs and expectations.
  • Advise, mentor, and train a team of collateral underwriters.
  • Review all potentially denied appraisals reviews prior to decision.
  • Monitor, review, and clear investor findings promptly.
  • Identify and elevate potential updates on job aids for reviewers as needed.
  • Monitor agency and investor guidelines to ensure reviews are being performed with the latest guidelines.
  • Review and decision branch escalations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 + years of condo review experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Knowledge of compliance and disclosure requirements.
  • Encompass LOS experience a plus.
