Job description

The S/L/A/M Collaborative is seeking a Healthcare Practice Leader in our Philadelphia office. In this role you will be a strategic thinker and will work to evolve the firm to best achieve and update its overall strategic vision. This includes examining the market’s sub-market sectors and services, examining strategic staff acquisitions, developing future expertise and leadership, examining strategies to evolve and bolster competitiveness. 

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Actively seek out and participate in speaking engagements; you should have experience in making presentations to professional and non-profit organizations dedicated to the advancement of healthcare environments, including but not limited to ASHE PDC, Healthcare Design Expo, Healthcare Facilities Symposium and regional Healthcare organizations similar to PSHFE
  • Preparation and publication of whitepapers on related Healthcare topics, in such periodicals as Architectural Record, Health Facilities Management, Healthcare Design, Medical Construction and Design, and should expect to continue to write and publish at a rate of approximately 2 articles per year
  • Utilize experience contributing to strategic marketing and business development; actively cultivate a solid network of clients and have the ability to develop new clientele
  • Recognition as a “Thought Leader” in the field by way of speaking and writing activities; be recognized as a credible leader in the Healthcare community to be a compelling representative of the firm’s work and be conversant with the most current trends in planning and design of the market
  • Strategic thinking and planning as it relates to the future of the market
  • Participation with coordinating project efforts across the firm’s healthcare design studios nationally
  • Development and execution of marketing plans
  • Identification of target clients and projects
  • Assembling multi-disciplinary teams
  • Writing / coordinating proposals and presentations
  • Attend client meetings in-house and at client sites
  • Support the needs of both internal and external clients
  • Maintain positive communications and work with colleagues and clients
  • Provide direction and mentorship to junior staff members

Key Skills:

  • Programming - experience in leading programming projects
  • Analytical tools - experience with learning space utilization analysis
  • Report preparation - experience in writing reports and studies as part of programming, planning, and design
  • Design Process - experience in working with the design team in the development of building designs that incorporate Healthcare space programs
  • Proposal Preparation - experience in leading and writing proposal efforts for new projects
  • Interview Presentations: experience in making presentations at interviews for new projects
  • Strong communication skills and team oriented professional
  • 15+ years of experience in the planning and design of Healthcare facilities in the areas of complex, brand-defining work in Community Hospitals and Academic Medical Centers, Ambulatory Surgery and Medical Office buildings
  • Licensure strongly preferred
