Position Summary - Augusta GA, Aiken SC or Charleston SC
Join Cranston, an HFW partner firm, as a Civil Project Engineer II, where you will assist in developing, planning, coordinating, and executing engineering work across multiple projects. This role offers increasing autonomy, with assignments performed independently or with progressively less supervision, while receiving guidance from Principal and senior engineers on complex or unusual challenges. The Project Engineer II is expected to apply a broad knowledge of engineering principles and practices and demonstrate the ability to work self-sufficiently while contributing to most aspects of project delivery.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Communicate with clients to identify the scope of engineering services required.
  • Communicates with Project Manager for project guidance and status.
  • Performs accurate analysis and design necessary to fulfill the scope of engineering services.
  • Provides cost estimates as required.
  • Provides final construction documents conforming to the scope of engineering services for Project Manager's review and approval.
  • Conducts periodic construction site observations for the project and attends project meetings as required by clients.
  • May assist with performing monthly billing of clients for work completed.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals.
  • Routinely communicate with Principals, Design Group Leaders, Project Managers, CADD technicians, engineering technicians, surveyors, government agencies, contractors, subcontractors, and administrative staff.
  • Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Experience: 1+ years of Civil Engineering experience. EIT required, P.E. is a plus.
  • Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; computer literate with emphasis on continued development/knowledge of various engineering software programs including AutoCAD Civil 3D; must be a self-starter.
  • Education: BS in Civil Engineering or technical equivalent.
