POSITION: Piano Accompanist
STATUS:Part time
DEPARTMENT: Fine Arts
DIVISION: Academic Affairs
CLASSIFICATION: Exempt
REPORTS TO: Department Chair
PLACEMENT: Support Staff, NUH07
HIRING RANGE: $65.00 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY
Serve as accompanist for all rehearsals and performances of the JJC Chamber Singers and the JJC Chorale. Be available to do sectional rehearsals or serve as substitute for choral director as requested. Serve as accompanist, as needed, for recitals and juries. Teach other music classes as needed.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provide piano accompaniment for JJC vocal ensembles, student recitals, auditions, and jury examinations.
2. Comply with all legal and ethical obligations, including FERPA, ADA, and other regulatory legislations. Communicate discrepancies to appropriate officials.
3. Commit to furthering the mission, goals, and core values of the college at all times.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Master of Music degree in Collaborative Piano, Piano Performance or Music Education
2. Two years of experience as a collaborative pianist.
3. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.
4. Demonstrated commitment to the college's core values of respect and inclusion, sustainability, integrity, collaboration, humor and well-being, innovation, and quality.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Doctoral Degree in Collaborative Piano or Piano Performance
2. Piano accompaniment experience at the collegiate level.
3. Piano accompaniment experience at the community college level.
4. Experience with traditional and non-traditional students from diverse backgrounds.
5. English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.
6. Demonstrated multicultural competence.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
1. Standard classroom equipment and software.
