Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Make a real difference in the lives of young learners by supporting a small K4/K5 classroom of about 10 students with Significant Developmental Delays and Autism Spectrum Disorder. This contract position provides you with an opportunity to work alongside a dedicated classroom aide, ensuring individualized attention and a supportive environment for every child.
Essential Qualifications:
- Valid Early Childhood Special Education Certification (required)
- Experience with Significant Developmental Delay (SDD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Knowledge of best practices in early childhood and special education
- Collaborative spirit and effective communication skills
- Ability to create and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, implement, and monitor specialized instruction and interventions tailored to each student’s needs
- Collaborate with the aide to support a structured and nurturing classroom environment
- Assess progress, document outcomes, and update IEPs in cooperation with families and interdisciplinary teams
- Foster a positive learning atmosphere that encourages student engagement and growth
- Participate in ongoing professional development and team meetings
- Communicate regularly with families and staff regarding student progress and strategies
