QUALIFICATIONS YOU'LL NEED
  • Age: Minimum 18 years old
  • Education: High school diploma or GED
  • Training: Completion of Intro to Child Care Profession (or equivalent ECE course) required OR must complete within 6 months
  • Certifications:
    • CNA certification required
    • Pediatric CPR within 6 months of employment
    • Basic first aid knowledge
  • Experience:
    • Working with people with disabilities and medical needs
    • Working with children ages 0-5
    • Experience with low-income, multicultural families
  • Professional Competencies: Cultural sensitivity, flexibility for varying schedules and locations, excellent communication skills
  • Language: Bilingual in Spanish and/or Hmong desired
  • Additional: Willingness to ride bus with assigned children as needed
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Medical Support Aide, you'll provide specialized support by:
  • Assisting and partnering with teachers in planning and implementing daily activities for children with medical needs
  • Supporting classroom implementation of daily activities and curriculum when not assigned to specific medical needs
  • Participating in lesson planning and carrying out supervisor-assigned tasks to reinforce safe instruction
  • Supporting assigned children with medical needs in both large group and individual settings
  • Ensuring assigned children's medical and classroom needs are met safely and appropriately
  • Assisting teachers in providing creative, pleasant, and developmentally appropriate learning experiences
  • Providing positive guidance and ensuring overall safety for assigned children
  • Attending job-related meetings, trainings, and individual mentoring sessions
  • Transporting children safely when needed (including bus rides)
  • Working flexibly across EHS and HS locations based on program needs
