Collaborative Artist information

How does a collaborative artist typically integrate their creative process within a team environment?

Collaborative Artists often work closely with other creatives such as designers, writers, musicians, or visual artists to bring joint projects to life. This role requires open communication, flexibility, and a willingness to adapt ideas based on group feedback. Successful Collaborative Artists regularly participate in brainstorming sessions, share progress updates, and adjust their contributions to align with the team's vision. This environment fosters mutual inspiration but can also present challenges, such as balancing differing artistic perspectives and meeting shared deadlines.

What is a collaborative artist?

Collaborative artists are individuals who work together with other artists, professionals, or community members to create joint works of art. This collaboration can occur across various artistic disciplines such as visual arts, music, dance, theater, and more. The process often involves sharing ideas, skills, and creative input to produce a unified artistic outcome that reflects the contributions of all involved. Collaborative artists value communication, flexibility, and openness to different perspectives, resulting in innovative and often interdisciplinary works.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a collaborative artist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Collaborative Artist, you need a strong foundation in visual or performing arts, creative problem-solving, and experience working on joint projects, often supported by a relevant arts degree or portfolio. Familiarity with digital design tools, collaborative platforms, and sometimes project management software is beneficial. Exceptional communication, flexibility, and openness to feedback are crucial soft skills for effective teamwork and creative synergy. These skills and qualities enable artists to blend ideas seamlessly, innovate together, and produce impactful collaborative works.

Job description

Uken is looking for a Junior Artist to join our team. In this role, you'll primarily support the production of high-quality video advertisements for our mobile games. You'll work closely with performance marketers, motion designers, and producers to edit engaging ad creatives, iterate on performance-driven concepts, and help bring campaigns to life across multiple advertising platforms. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their creative career who is passionate about video editing, mobile gaming, and digital advertising, and wants to grow their skills in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

This is an 8 month contract backfilling a short-term leave

As a Ukenite, you'll be working on meaningful things like:

  • Edit short-form video ads for mobile game user acquisition campaigns across platforms such as Meta, TikTok, YouTube, and other social channels
  • Assemble footage, gameplay captures, motion graphics, sound effects, music, and text overlays into compelling video creatives
  • Produce multiple creative variations based on performance insights and creative direction
  • Collaborate with Performance Marketers and other artists to iterate on ad concepts and optimize creatives based on campaign results
  • Maintain organized project files and ensure assets are delivered on schedule
  • Assist with gameplay capture, asset preparation, and light graphic design tasks as needed
  • Stay current on trends in mobile advertising, social media, and video editing techniques

Your background should include:

  • 1-2 years of experience in video editing, motion graphics, advertising production, or a related creative field (internships and personal projects welcome)
  • Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro, and familiarity with Adobe After Effects and Photoshop
  • Strong understanding of pacing, storytelling, typography, and visual composition
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Comfortable receiving feedback and iterating quickly
  • Passion for games, digital media, and creating content that captures attention
  • Experience working remotely - collaborating, iterating and receiving direction in written or video meeting format

Note: Please include a link to your portfolio and a video editing demo reel showcasing examples of your work. Applications submitted without a portfolio and demo reel will not be considered.

We believe in a fun & meaningful work environment:

  • You'll be equipped with a high-end laptop
  • Competitive salary, fully remote work
  • Supportive and collaborative culture
  • Remote and in-person team building events and celebrations
