Since 2004, CESI has been at the forefront of developing, maintaining, and integrating simulation-based training, serious gaming, technical services, training and other support in live, virtual, constructive, and gaming (LVCG) domains. ย CESI also designs, builds and runs infrastructure, platforms, applications and processes that enable cyber training for the integrated multi-domain force. Position Overview

Cole Engineering Services (CESI) is seeking a motivated and talented Level 1 Software Design Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative engineering team. In this entry-level role, you will work closely with senior developers and cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software solutions. This is an opportunity to grow your skills in a collaborative environment and make meaningful contributions to mission-critical applications.

Responsibilities
  • Familiarity with the Java Programming Language.
  • Understanding of fundamental computer science concepts, including data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
  • Experience with version control systems, such as Git.
  • Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to tackle complex challenges and create innovative solutions.
  • Excellent Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
  • Team-Oriented Mindset: A desire to work collaboratively and provide constructive feedback during code reviews and planning.
  • Eagerness to Learn: A passion for software development and a willingness to continuously learn and grow.
  • Attention to Detail: The ability to ensure solutions meet business requirements and are well-structured.ย 
Required Experience/Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
Preferred Experience/Qualifications
  • Familiarity with web development technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.ย  Experience with TypeScript and Angular is a plus.
  • Knowledge of databases, including SQL, is preferred.
  • Knowledge of container runtime environment such as Kubernetes is a plus.
