Job description

Will consider candidates who are available either:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday from 7:00am-2:00pm
  • Monday and Tuesday from 7:00am-2:00pm, or
  • Wednesday and Friday from 7:00am-2:00pm

Position Summary:

The Ecommerce Warehouse Worker is responsible for the picking and packing of online orders generated from the Kauai Coffee ecommerce website and maintaining coffee inventory for continuous business needs. Employees working in the Ecommerce Warehouse can expect the following experiences:

  • Gain hands-on experience with warehouse management systems (e.g., ShipHero) and digital fulfillment tools.
  • Build skills in order processing, picking, packing, and shipping with a focus on accuracy and premium presentation.
  • Learn inventory control practices, including receiving, restocking, cycle counts, and quality checks.
  • Operate warehouse equipment safely (pallet jacks, forklifts, etc.).
  • Develop time management and teamwork skills while also working independently.
  • Understand how fulfillment supports marketing campaigns, promotions, and customer experience.
  • Gain exposure to training and leadership opportunities by assisting new hires and through the employee-led Fair Trade Committee involvement.

Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills:

  • Previous warehouse, fulfillment, or logistics experience is helpful but not required.
  • Experience with warehouse fulfillment systems (ShipHero or similar) is helpful but not required.
  • Forklift certification is a plus but will be required within 90 days of hire. Training will be provided.
  • Valid state driver’s license preferred.
  • Basic computer literacy (able to use scanners, tablets, or warehouse software) is a plus.

Requirements:

  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Strong attention to detail for accurate order picking and packing.
  • Ability to stand for the length of a shift (typically 7 hours) and to walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Every other month, able to work an additional 1.5 hours per shift for 1 week during promotional events and an additional 1.5 hours each shift during the peak holiday period (November 1 – December 10).
  • Team players can also work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Commitment to safety practices and cleanliness.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Use warehouse management systems to monitor daily order loads and process orders.
  • Order Picking & Packing:
  • Pick, pack, and ship Ecommerce coffee orders with accuracy and care.
  • Ensure coffee products (whole bean, ground, single-serve, gift sets, etc.) are packed securely to prevent damage in transit.
  • Accurately scan barcodes when picking and packing orders.
  • Pack orders in a way that reflects the premium quality of the coffee brand, ensuring customers receive the correct product in excellent condition for a delightful unboxing experience.
  • Apply promotional inserts or special packaging (e.g., campaigns, subscription offers).
  • Operate coffee grinding equipment and grind individual orders to specifications while adhering to safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Receive incoming stock of coffee products, packaging, and other merchandise, which may include tagging, sorting, labeling, and restocking.
  • Restock inventory into warehouse picking locations, maintaining a full supply of merchandise while rotating stock properly to ensure product freshness.
  • Flag and report any damaged, defective, or mislabeled coffee products.
  • Perform regular cycle counts and assist with monthly/quarterly inventory audits.
  • Inspect products for quality, freshness, and accuracy when receiving, restocking, auditing, and while packing orders before shipping.
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, and forklifts safely.
  • Safely unload/load containers.
  • Coordinate with team members to ensure an adequate supply of packing materials and other supplies.
  • Maintain an orderly, clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • May assist in the training of new hires.
  • May assist other Ecommerce or Kauai Coffee staff as needed with additional duties.
