Job description

ESI was founded as a technical coffee service company in 1989; setting the standard for service quality and customer support in the specialty coffee industry. Our goal is to help our customers serve a high quality and consistently prepared coffee beverage through technical excellence. 

We're looking for a skilled and motivated Field Service Technician to join our expert team, specializing in the installation, maintenance, and repair of cutting-edge coffee and espresso equipment. Previous experience in the coffee industry is required, but what really matters is your drive and curiosity. We want someone who's passionate about problem-solving and eager to take on new challenges. Our team of service technicians are factory-certified pros with an average of over a decade in the field, you'll be in good company.

Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Travel the region to install, repair, and maintain espresso machines, coffee brewers, grinders, and other specialty coffee equipment
  • Utilize a company issued iPad to track time and materials in the FieldAware app, our field service management software
  • Keep customers in the loop with timely updates on repair status and estimated timeframes
  • Maintain your company-provided service vehicle in a neat, organized, and well-stocked condition
  • Contribute to a tidy and efficient shop environment
  • Participate in a weekly on-call rotation for after-hours service
  • Assist other service technicians with installations and parts delivery

Requirements

Essential Qualifications 

  • Previous experience in the coffee industry
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to be insured
  • Proven customer service skills with a professional and friendly demeanor
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Working knowledge of multimeter use
  • Vo-Tech school degree; or one to two years related experience with electrical and hydraulic systems
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace (Gmail, Chat, Drive, Calendar)
