We are currently filling the position of Machine Operator. We are seeking experienced individuals who have a demonstrated ability to operateand maintain production packaging machines in a safe, hygienic manner. Performs repairs and schedule maintenance. Stocks and maintains production par levels of finished coffee products and filling on-demand coffee orders. Responsible for upkeep of production logs and other documents related to the organization's food safety program.

This role is part of our bargaining unit represented by Teamsters Local 162. Wages, benefits, and protections are collectively negotiated by the union.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Ordering and managing inventory ofroasted coffee for daily production packaging needs.
  • Operating and maintaining packaging machine/s.
  • Maintaining adequate inventory of finished products.
  • Error-free filling of coffee orders. Packaging and weighing same for delivery, or shipment.
  • Repairing and performing schedule maintenance on packaging machine/s including coders/printers, conveyors, gluer and box tapers.
  • Cleaning of production area and surrounding area and grounds.
  • Operating other production equipment, including, but not limited bag filler, grinder, scales, loader, forklift, scissors lift and pallet jack.
  • Logging production logs in system accurately.
  • Knowledge of and compliance with the company's food safety program.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Maintaining (and communicating the needs for) adequate packaging materials and other supplies necessary for packaging.
  • Creating package labels.
  • Preparing and wrapping pallets.
  • Performs all other related duties and responsibilities as determined by the Production Leadership team.

  • Forklift certification preferred.
  • Experience using Viking or ActionPac weigh & fill machines, GIMA, or Matrix machines strongly preferred
