Job description

Position Overview:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and reliable person with accounting experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist with daily accounting tasks, including data entry, processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and maintaining accurate financial records. Key Responsibilities:

  • Track project costs, commitments, budgets, cost codes, and job cost reports.

  • Prepare owner billings, progress billings, retention billing, and billing backup.

  • Collect and track subcontractor invoices, lien releases, insurance certificates, W-9s, and contract documents.

  • Review project-related invoices for coding, approvals, commitments, and budget alignment.

  • Monitor owner change orders, subcontractor change orders, pending changes, and approved changes.

  • Assist with work-in-progress reporting, percent complete, over/under billing, and project financial updates.

  • Work closely with PMs to review costs, billings, change orders, committed costs, and budget variances.

  • Review labor costs charged to jobs, cost codes, and phases; help identify coding errors.

  • Support certified payroll, prevailing wage backup, DIR-related documentation, and public works reporting as needed.

  • Assist with final billing, retention collection, final lien releases, subcontractor closeout, and job cost cleanup.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced Excel skills are a must

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree in Accounting or related field preferred).

  • Proven experience as an accounting clerk or in a similar role.

  • Familiarity with basic accounting principles and procedures.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must.

  • What accounting software are you experienced with?

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
