Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Hospital Insurance Biller to join our team!

JOB SUMMARY:       

The Hospital Insurance Biller is responsible for preparing, submitting, and following up on insurance claims to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement for hospital services. This role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of medical billing procedures, and the ability to work with insurance providers, patients, and internal departments to resolve billing issues.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare and submit accurate insurance claims (electronic and paper) for hospital services
• Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to billing
• Review medical records and coding to ensure compliance with billing regulations
• Follow up on unpaid, denied, or rejected claims and take corrective action
• Communicate with insurance companies to resolve claim discrepancies
• Post insurance payments and adjustments to patient accounts
• Work closely with coding and clinical staff to ensure proper documentation
• Appeal denied claims when appropriate
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance policies, billing guidelines, and regulations

Education/Certification: High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred)

Experience:   Minimum of 1–3 years of medical billing experience, preferably in a hospital setting. Familiarity with insurance claim processing and reimbursement procedures. Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and billing software. 

Equipment/Technology:  Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
