As a BrightBee  After School STEM/Coding Program Associate, you'll support students in local schools-helping them learn, grow, and succeed. 

Your day kicks off by welcoming students into a safe, supportive space after school for grades 3rd-5th. You'll help them settle in, supervise activities, and offer a hand with homework when needed. Whether you're leading a fun group activity, lending a listening ear to a student who needs support, or making sure everyone follows program rules, you're creating a positive environment where kids can thrive. You'll also stay in touch with parents and teachers, keep accurate attendance and behavior records, and make each afternoon count for the students in your care.

During your interview we will go into detail about what assignments are available at these sites. The more sites and assignment types you are open to working, the more your earning potential is.

• Work 2-5 days per week
• After school shifts (2:300 PM - 4:00 PM)
• Pick up assignments that match your schedule
• Great as a side hustle or consistent weekly income

• High School Diploma/GED
• Demonstrated understanding of STEM/Coding subject matter
• Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus

To keep students safe, you'll need to:

• Pass a background check
• Follow safety and reporting guidelines
• Complete required school clearances which you are responsible for paying.
  • Costs associated with the clearance process are the sole responsibility of the candidate, as this engagement is for an independent contractor role rather than a traditional employment position.  Requirements vary by state but may include the cost of a background check, obtaining a copy of any college transcript you have, and the cost of completing Mandated Reporter training. The average cost of completing clearance in California for instructional roles is between $203-$218.
