The Role

As a Coding Quality Specialist 2, you will leverage your expertise in CPT and ICD-10 coding to review, validate, and enhance coding accuracy for Primary Care practices. This role offers a meaningful opportunity to serve as a trusted resource for coding quality, documentation integrity, and compliance in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

In an average day, you will:

• Review clinical documentation and coded encounters for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.

• Apply advanced knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, coding modifiers, NCCI edits, and payer-specific requirements .

• Identify documentation deficiencies and determine when provider clarification or queries are appropriate.

• Partner with providers and operational teams to support coding quality initiatives and best practices.

• Analyze coding trends and patterns while helping improve documentation accuracy and coding consistency.

• Utilize electronic health record systems, including EPIC (preferred), to support coding workflows.

• Provide clear, professional communication regarding coding guidance and documentation opportunities.

• Independently manage assigned work while maintaininga high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and productivity .

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience: 2+ years of relevant coding experience required.

Licensure: Certified Professional Coder (CPC) required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally requires traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.

The pay range for this role is $23.00 - $35.32 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
