Job description

Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with a technical support center in South East Asia and East Africa, that provides program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.
We are seeking an experienced Architect that will support U.S. Navy facilities and infrastructure projects based at the Government facilities onboard NSA Naples, Italy. You will provide architectural expertise throughout the planning, design, and construction phases, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver functional, code-compliant, and high-quality facility designs.
This position is contingent upon contract award. If awarded, the contract will have a potential period of performance of up to five (5) years.
Key responsibilities:
  • Provide professional architectural support for the planning, design, construction, maintenance, renovation, demolition, space utilization, and facilities development of Navy, Marine Corps, and other Supported Command projects, including MILCON and special projects.
  • Review and provide recommendations on third-party designs, programming, space planning, concept development, sustainable design, code compliance, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders and multidisciplinary engineering and architectural teams to ensure coordinated, code-compliant, and project-specific designs.
  • Apply architectural design principles throughout all project phases, including programming, space planning, concept design, design analysis, construction documentation, and project support.
  • Ensure compliance with DoD, Navy, International Building Code (IBC), Life Safety Code, and other applicable standards and regulations.
  • Utilize Autodesk, Microsoft Office, and architectural design and analysis software to support project delivery.
  • Prepare technical reports, design analyses, presentations, and recommendations, while supporting project planning, budgeting, and team coordination.
  • Comply with applicable safety policies, guidance, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.

Qualifications to be successful in the role:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from a NAAB-accredited program or equivalent NCARB-approved experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional architectural design experience, including new construction and renovation projects, with code-compliant facilities design.
  • At least one year of experience on Federal Agency facilities projects.
  • Registered Architect (RA) licensure is desirable.
  • Must have a valid US driver's license.
