What began as a way to teach kids how to create their own video games has grown into a full Science, Coding, and Robotics program that enables students to solve problems creatively, work in teams, and explore their curiosity through hands-on science investigations. We provide Science, Coding, and Robotics instruction for K-6 schools through our Science Laboratory, Young Game Developer, Champion Robotics, and Little Coder programs.
Our hands-on science labs have contributed to remarkable improvements in CAST scores, as students develop a deeper understanding of the universe and their place in it. Our passion is to help students express their creativity and solve problems with code as they develop critical thinking skills and scientific literacy. We currently serve multiple elementary schools and are growing.
Students absolutely LOVE our classes, and so do we. Job Summary Job Summary We are looking for Instructional Aides, Substitute Teachers, and other child focused educators we can train to become Science, Coding & Robotics Specialists, who will teach their own classes. This is a unique growth opportunity.
You will be assigned to shadow and team-teach alongside one of our experienced teachers for an entire school year. You will also be assigned at least one day each week that you will teach independently, applying what you've learned in your team-teaching classes and developing the confidence and strategies you will use in your second year. Detailed curriculum guides will be provided.
You will step into traditional K-6 classrooms to lead engaging lessons such as: Hands-on science labs for grades 3-5 Animated storytelling with 1st grade Team based robotics challenges for 2nd and 3rd Video game programming with 4th-5th No science or coding background is required - just curiosity, a desire to learn and grow, reliability, and a genuine love for working with children. We will provide full training, curriculum, and ongoing support. We believe learning is fun.
Our classes are joyful, hands-on, and full of discovery. Part-time: 15-25 hours per week (8am-2pm). Our teachers generally work 3-6 hours a day, four days a week.
Term: 9-10 month school year (Aug-May) Location: West Covina area schools Compensation Year 1 (training year): $22/hr Shadowing, team teaching, and one independent teaching day per week with full coaching and support. Year 2: $26/hr Full independent teaching schedule after completing the training year. Year 3 and beyond: $28-$30/hr Annual raises based on performance, mastery of curriculum and continued commitment.
