Job description

Industrial ElectricianOverview

This full-time Electrician role focuses on installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems in commercial buildings, manufacturing facilities, distribution centers, and industrial environments. You will work with electrical distribution systems, motor controls, industrial automation equipment, and complex circuitry while ensuring all work complies with electrical codes and safety standards. The position suits a self-starter with strong field experience who can take ownership of projects, solve complex problems, and provide guidance to less experienced electricians. Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in commercial, industrial, and distribution facilities.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, single-line diagrams, and technical drawings.
  • Install and service motors, transformers, MCCs, switchgear, and VFDs.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Run, bend, and install conduit systems in compliance with electrical codes.
  • Pull wire, terminate conductors, and complete panel wiring and electrical connections.
  • Troubleshoot high- and low-voltage electrical systems and perform repairs.
  • Use testing equipment such as multimeters, Meggers, clamp meters, and circuit tracers.
  • Ensure all work meets NEC, OSHA, and NFPA 70E standards.
  • Follow lockout/tagout procedures and other electrical safety practices.
  • Work with team members on construction, renovation, and maintenance projects.
  • Document completed work and communicate project updates.
  • Mentor apprentices and less-experienced electricians.
  • Assist with jobsite leadership, task coordination, and crew support when needed.
Essential Skills
  • 3+ years of commercial and/or industrial electrical experience.
  • Strong knowledge of 3-phase power systems (120/208V and 277/480V).
  • Experience installing, troubleshooting, and repairing motors, transformers, MCCs, switchgear, and VFDs.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of NEC, OSHA, and NFPA 70E requirements.
  • Experience using electrical testing and diagnostic tools.
  • Ability to bend conduit, pull feeders, terminate conductors, and complete installations independently.
  • Strong troubleshooting and preventive maintenance skills.
  • Experience in commercial and industrial construction environments.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
  • Journeyman Electrician license.
  • Master Electrician license or additional electrical certifications.
  • PLC troubleshooting and industrial automation experience.
  • Knowledge of medium-voltage systems.
  • OSHA 10, OSHA 30, NFPA 70E, or Arc Flash certifications.
  • Experience leading crews or mentoring apprentices.
  • Experience in manufacturing, food processing, distribution, or heavy industrial facilities.
  • Familiarity with building automation, instrumentation, and process controls.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

The standard schedule is approximately 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., supporting a consistent daytime work routine. You will regularly use electrical testing equipment such as multimeters, Meggers, clamp meters, and circuit tracers, as well as tools for conduit bending, wire pulling, and panel wiring. Safety is a core focus, with adherence to NEC, OSHA, and NFPA 70E standards. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
