Job description - Cloud Network Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled and certified Cloud Network Engineer with deep expertise in designing, implementing, and managing complex network architectures across hybrid and multicloud environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with cloud migrations, network security, and cyber security, particularly within the U.S. Federal sector, including FISMA Moderate and High systems. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong technical foundation and a passion for secure, scalable, and resilient network solutions.
Clearance Requirements: US Citizenship and eligibility for Public Trust
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design and implement secure, scalable, and high-performance network architectures across hybrid cloud environments.
  • Lead network integration and migration efforts from on-premises to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Ensure compliance with federal security standards including FISMA, FedRAMP, and NIST guidelines.
  • Configure and manage VPNs, firewalls, load balancers, and network gateways.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal uptime and reliability.
  • Collaborate with security teams to implement and maintain network security controls and incident response plans.
  • Automate network provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
  • Document network designs, configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Stay current with emerging networking technologies and recommend improvements.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years of experience in network engineering with a focus on cloud and hybrid infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS networking services (VPC, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, etc.).
  • Experience with Azure and/or GCP networking components is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, and network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF)
  • Proficiency in network security practices and tools (IDS/IPS, firewalls, VPNs).
  • Experience working with federal agencies and securing FISMA Moderate/High systems.
  • Familiarity with automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
  • Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Preferred certifications:
    • AWS Certified Advanced Networking - Specialty
    • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate
    • Google Cloud Certified: Professional Cloud Network Engineer
    • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
    • CompTIA Security+ or CASP+
