Job description

GENERAL SUMMARY: 

RN- Hospice HHC Weekend regularly scheduled to work weekend shifts between Saturday at 8am through Sunday at 10pm in a hospice care setting, with standard weekend commitment to work 20 of 24 weekend shifts per 12-week schedule for a minimum of 10 weeks as combined CTO allows. Provides nursing care to hospice patients in accordance with the hospice concept of care. Assumes managerial responsibilities in the absence of the Hospice manager. Works under the supervision of the Hospice manager.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 

  • Requires graduation from an accredited school of nursing. 
  • A working knowledge of current pain and symptom management, and experience appropriate to the needs of hospice patients and their families is preferred. 
  • Requires interpersonal skills to present a positive image of Hospice to those who are referred to the program. 
  • Requires the ability to be flexible in adapting policies and procedures to meet the needs presented by Hospice patients and families. 
  • Requires a valid driver's license, an acceptable driving record, and reliable transportation. 

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: 

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan. Hospice certification preferred.
