Purpose of the position:
To assist the teacher in matters essential to the efficient and effective operation of the classroom.
Strategic Goal Area I -Student Achievement
1. Assist the teacher/supervisor in meeting and instructing assigned classes in the location and at times designated
2. Assist the teacher/supervisor in developing and in maintaining a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within the limits of the resources provided by the district
3. Assist the teacher/supervisor in preparing for classes assigned
4. Assist the teacher/supervisor in using a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved
Strategic Goal Area II - Stakeholder Engagement and Loyalty
1. Communicate effectively with students, peers, administration, and teachers
2. Exhibit pleasant behavior and project a positive image when dealing with students, peers, administration, and teachers
3. Follow and enforce regulations concerning student conduct, discipline, and attendance
4. Assist the teacher in maintaining a positive learning environment 5. Assist the teacher in maximizing instructional time

4. Maintain accurate, complete, and appropriate records and file reports promptly 5. Maintain confidentiality of information and records for students and staff JOB STANDARDS (Minimum qualifications needed to perform essential job functions): 1. High School Diploma or GED
2. Possess and maintain a valid Paraprofessional Certificate issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (PSC).
