About This Role

Preschool Teacher Assistant

Trinity College Community Child Center is seeking a qualified, full-time Preschool Teacher Assistant to join our dynamic team of Early Childhood Educators. Our Teacher Assistants work on a team with two full-time Teacher Assistants and a Lead Teacher in a classroom with 18 children to provide a curriculum that both nurtures and stimulates a child’s development. We are located on the beautiful Trinity College campus and our children join us from the Trinity community, Hartford, and outlying towns.

Qualified candidates must have:

  • At least one year experience working with this age group (children 3 to 5 years) in a childcare center
  • A current CDA/12 credits in Early Childhood Education OR Associates degree in Early Childhood Education

What You'll Do

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift paid 45 minute lunch break.
  • Monday to Friday
  • Serve as a mandated reporter.
  • Fulfill all mandates and obligations as laid out by the Connecticut Office of Early Childhood and The City of Hartford Department of Children, Families Youth and Recreation.
  • Observe and follow all TC4 policies and procedures.
  • Perform daily site safety checks (classroom, playground, etc.) prior to children entering, correct any issues, and notify the Administrative Team of items requiring follow-up.
  • Carry out best practices as developed by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, and observe its Code of Ethical Conduct.

Requirements

Qualified candidates must have:

  • At least one year experience working with this age group (children 3 to 5 years) in a childcare center
  • A current CDA/12 credits in Early Childhood Education OR Associates degree in Early Childhood Education

Education:

  • Associate (Preferred)

Work Location: In person


Present proof of a recent physical and negative TB test results (less than 1 year before hire and every two years thereafter for physical)
