Job description

Schedule: 7:00am - 3:30pm Monday-Friday, rotating weekend call schedule.
PTO: 40 hours deposited upon hire for new fulltime employees!
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of an MLT or MLS, the Laboratory Assistant completes phlebotomy, sample processing and appropriate laboratory testing. The Laboratory Assistant must demonstrate the ability to work with neonates, infants, children, adults and geriatric persons. The Laboratory Assistant participates in Continuous Quality Improvement activities.
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) Heart Code BLS required. New employees certify within three (3) months after hire date.
Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
Strong written and verbal skills.
Basic computer knowledge.
Basic clerical skills.
Ability to communicate with tact and professionalism.
Expresses ideas in a clear, creative and succinct manner.
Flexibility for shift rotation within the department.
