Job description

Job Description A New York-based Law Firm is seeking an Accountant. Responsibilities will include: Perform bank reconciliations for operating, escrow, and other bank accounts Analyze general ledger accounts (cash accounts, partner business accounts, loans & exchanges, etc.) to monitor budgets and ensure correct general ledger coding Assist with preparation of quarterly and annual firmwide and departmental budgets Prepare reconciliation reports, performance management reports, monthly financial statements, and other similar reports and deliverables Assist with annual financial review and 401k audit (gather backup, prepare reports, prepare reconciliations) Assist with processing and recording of quarterly state tax payments Prepare and post journal entries by maintaining files and records and reconciling accounts Assist with processing payroll through Paylocity Prepare and process escrow transactions, wire transfers, ACH batch payments Assist with office duties as they arise including check preparation and remote deposit of cash receipt checks, monitoring of petty cash. Qualifications: 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a law firm Proficiency in Excel and Aderant Strong analytical skills and knowledge of accounting principles Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
