Orthodontic Dental Assistant

Job Description

Assist orthodontists during procedures, including placement and adjustments of braces and appliances
Prepare and maintain clean, organized treatment rooms with all necessary instruments and materials
Perform chairside assisting to ensure patient comfort and safety throughout treatments
Take and process X-rays using proper imaging techniques and equipment
Manage patient records accurately with Dentrix and Eaglesoft EMR systems in compliance with HIPAA
Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-treatment care, and orthodontic maintenance
Monitor patient vital signs and assist in pediatric patient care with a friendly, professional manner
Maintain strict adherence to infection control, sterilization, and aseptic protocols
Support medical documentation and coding as required

Salary Range

Part-time $25 - $30 per hour

- Competitive salary based on qualifications and experience.

Shift & Schedule

Monday through Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Saturday and Sunday: Closed

Requirements
  • Certified Orthodontic Assistant
  • Dentrix
  • Dexis
  • Eaglesoft
  • X-ray / Radiography Certification

Proven experience as an Orthodontic Assistant in a clinical setting
Proficiency in Dentrix and Eaglesoft EMR systems
Thorough knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality
Ability to perform four-handed dentistry and maintain sterile work environments
Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, and orthodontic procedures
Effective communication and organizational skills
Familiarity with dental imaging equipment and techniques

Preferences

Experience working with pediatric patients and in pediatric dentistry
Knowledge of medical coding related to dental practice
Experience using 3D scanners and advanced imaging technology
Previous dental clinic experience in a fast-paced environment
