About the Role

As a Software Engineer 1, you will be working closely with senior level developers to contribute to the design, development, and testing of telecommunication network packet-processing pipelines. You will focus on creating high-performance, low-latency networking solutions, primarily through C programming and performance optimization techniques

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design, development, and testing of packet-processing pipelines for high-performance systems, under the guidance of senior engineers
  • Implement and maintain networking features in low-latency environments
  • Write clean, tested, maintainable C code as part of a collaborative engineering team
  • Write and execute tests for new and existing features to ensure correctness and reliability
  • Help troubleshoot networking issues related to performance and functionality
  • Participate in code reviews — both giving and receiving feedback
  • Learn and apply performance optimization techniques for multi-core systems


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience/projects)
  • Some exposure to C or C++, including pointers and manual memory management — via coursework (CS, EE, or other engineering discipline), internship, or personal/lab projects
  • Working understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, UDP)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced, collaborative environment- 0–2 years of professional experience — new grads and career-changers from adjacent technical fields are encouraged to apply


Preferred Skills

  • Personal, academic, or internship projects involving systems-level programming (e.g., a network client/server, a shell, a memory allocator, an OS course project)
  • Exposure to Linux- Familiarity with multithreaded/concurrent programming (e.g., locks, race conditions, thread-safety concepts)
  • Interest in networking, telecom, or 4G/5G technologies (no prior domain experience required)
