Job description

Under the direction of the Supervisor Beverage, the Cocktail Server provides timely, accurate and responsible cocktail service and complimentary soft drink service to all Yaamava' guests. While adhering to the Yaamava' Brand Standards, they provide beverage service during daily floor operations, as well as for special events. Areas of beverage service include slot and table game locations, and other Casino areas of operation as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.Takes orders and forms of payment from guests while adhering to Yaamava Service and Brand Standards. The Cocktail Server orders all alcoholic beverages from the Bartender and pays the Bartender for the complete order, process may vary per venue. They return to guests in a timely manner with their beverages and proper change. Non-alcoholic drinks are prepared by the Server or Bartender adhering to process in place. The Cocktail Server addresses guests in an attentive and respectful manner, providing exceptional customer service.
2.Ensures service check-ins are completed for the assigned section to pick up trash, empty glasses/bottles, and ashtrays (if applicable), and inquires if anyone needs "cocktail or drink service" throughout their scheduled shift. Follows up with guests to inquire if they would like continued service. Adheres to the scheduled section and corresponding break times. Communicates and works with team members and management to ensure proper floor coverage and exceptional guest service.
3.Maintains a high degree of alcohol expertise, including the numerous types of spirits, beer, wine, and cocktails available, and the appropriate garnish and presentation standards. Maintains a correct understanding of all beverage prices to date. Responsible for collecting accurate payment for each drink or round of drinks as they are requested, using the "cash and carry" alcohol service system.
4.Maintains a clean and organized workstation as well as completing daily side-work as assigned. Maintains a clean and proper set-up of beverage tray including beverage napkins, small pad of paper for taking orders, a pen, and tip cup.
5.Performs other duties as assigned to support the ecient operation of the department.

EDUCATIONAL, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum six (6) months of related experience or training required.

Must be at least 21 years of age.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)

Must be able to read, write and communicate in the English language.
Must be able to perform simple mathematical operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
Must be able to manage cash transactions accurately and securely.
Must be able to provide friendly and efficient service to guests and team members, addressing their needs and resolving issues.
Must be able to have clear and effective communication with guests and team members.
Must be able to work under pressure by staying calm and efficient during busy period(s).

REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS

At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
Must obtain and maintain a current Food Handler's card.
Must obtain and maintain a Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ WORKING CONDITIONS - ENVIRONMENT

Work requires travel to attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences.

Speech sufficient to make oneself heard and understood in person, in front of groups, in meetings,
via videoconference and over the telephone.
Visual acuity that meets the requirements of the position: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading and visual inspection of employees, visitors or facility.
Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend and kneel, and enter, exit and operate a motor vehicle in the course of travel to promotional events, meetings, conferences, trade shows and San Manuel properties.
Endurance sufficient to sit, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours.
Must present a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance in accordance with departmental policy.
The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including secondhand smoke.
