Cocktail Server Overview:

At Village Tavern, the Cocktail Server plays a key role in creating the warm, welcoming atmosphere our guests return for. This position blends genuine hospitality with strong beverage knowledge to deliver memorable experiences in our bar, patio, and dining room areas. Cocktail Servers represent the spirit of Village Tavern: friendly, attentive, and committed to excellence.

 

Key Responsibilities

Guest Hospitality

•         Welcome guests with warmth, professionalism, and a sincere desire to serve

•         Build rapport with regulars and new guests, creating a sense of familiarity and comfort

•         Provide thoughtful recommendations on cocktails, wine, beer, and menu pairings

•         Take accurate orders and ensure timely delivery of beverages and food

•         Anticipate guest needs and check in proactively

•         Handle guest concerns with grace and involve a manager when appropriate

Beverage Knowledge & Service

•         Maintain strong knowledge of Village Tavern’s cocktail list, wine selections, spirits, and rotating features

•         Describe flavor profiles and guide guests toward drinks that match their preferences

•         Prepare or assist with garnishes, glassware setup, and bar support as needed

•         Promote specialty cocktails, seasonal offerings, and premium spirits when appropriate

Operational Excellence

•         Maintain clean, organized service stations and bar areas

•         Follow all responsible alcohol service guidelines and monitor guest consumption

•         Process payments accurately and follow Village Tavern cashhandling procedures

•         Support bartenders, servers, and hosts during peak times

•         Follow all safety, sanitation, and company policies to ensure a safe environment for guests and staff
