Job description

Job Title: Director, Benefits
Location: Houston, TX 77024
Salary: $140K - $160K (Base)
Bonus: 20-30%
Work Type: Hybrid (Must be willing to relocate to Houston, TX)

Role Summary
This position is responsible for the design, implementation, administration and communication of the benefit programs and the supervision of consulting firms, brokers, and trustees. Ensures all benefit programs are compliant with IRS and ERISA regulations.
Must-Have Requirements
  • 10+ years managing benefits operations & implementation
  • Benefits experience in healthcare
  • Experience with plan design/evaluation/ compliance/implementation for health and welfare, pension, 403(b), 401(k)
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree (Business, HR Management, or related), Master's preferred
  • Certifications: Preferred: CBP, CEBS, or other HR-related certifications
Experience
  • 10+ years in benefits operations, including:
  • Implementation and administration of benefit programs
  • Compliance of retirement, health & welfare, and wellness plans
  • Experience in complex healthcare systems or multi-divisional companies
  • HRIS database experience required
  • Strong leadership and team management skills

Principal Accountabilities
  • Design and administer benefit programs aligned with business goals
  • Lead Benefits team and oversee operations
  • Manage relationships with consultants, actuaries, and vendors
  • Ensure compliance with PPA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, DOL, IRS, and ERISA
  • Improve processes and benefit delivery efficiency
  • Collaborate with ISD and HRIS for system enhancements
  • Act as escalation point for HR Service Center
  • Ensure accurate benefit communications
  • Develop ROI metrics for benefit programs
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and standards
  • Support employee development and training
  • Promote patient and staff care standards
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
